What we collect
- Your WhatsApp phone number — required to deliver the daily message.
- Your email address — for Paystack receipts and important account notices.
- Your consent timestamp — recorded when you tick the opt-in box during signup, to evidence consent for the daily message.
- Payment metadata from Paystack — customer code, subscription code, payment status, paid-through date. We never see or store your full card details; those stay with Paystack.
What we don't collect
- We do not place advertising or analytics cookies on the website.
- We do not track your activity outside this site.
- We do not read or store anything you send us on WhatsApp other than STOP/START commands.
How we use your data
Only to deliver the service: send you the daily rate, process billing through Paystack, and respond to STOP/START commands. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
Who processes your data
- Paystack — payment processing and subscription billing.
- WhatsApp / Meta — message delivery (via our messaging partner).
- Supabase — subscriber database, hosted in the EU.
- Netlify — site and serverless function hosting.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or correct it at any time by emailing privacy@thenairatoday.com. If you reply STOP to the WhatsApp message, your subscription is cancelled and we stop sending. To delete your record entirely, email us — we will confirm deletion within 7 days.
Data retention
We keep subscriber records for as long as you are an active subscriber and for 12 months after cancellation (for billing audit and dispute resolution). After 12 months your record is permanently deleted.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS, WhatsApp's E2E). Subscriber records sit behind Supabase row-level security with service-key-only server access. Payment data never touches our servers.
